Who Is Cory Mills?

Representative Cory Mills, a 45-year-old Republican from Florida’s 7th Congressional District northeast of Orlando, has long positioned himself as a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump. Elected to Congress in 2022, Mills built a public image around national security, veterans’ issues, and conservative values.

But that image is now under intense scrutiny following a court ruling that paints a far more troubling private portrait.

Lindsey Langston’s Allegations

Lindsey Langston, the reigning Miss United States and Mills’s former girlfriend, sought legal protection after what court documents describe as a series of escalating threats following their breakup earlier this year.

According to a 14-page injunction issued Tuesday by Judge Fred Koberlein Jr. of Florida’s Third Judicial Circuit, Langston—then 22—began dating Mills in November 2021 while he was separated from his wife. Their relationship unraveled in February 2025 after Langston learned through news reports that Mills was under investigation for an alleged assault involving another woman at his Washington, D.C. residence.

Though the Metropolitan Police Department later closed that investigation without charges, Langston says Mills misled her about his involvement with the other woman. She ended the relationship shortly thereafter.

What followed, per court filings, were months of alleged harassment. In May and June 2025, Mills allegedly sent Langston messages threatening to distribute sexually explicit videos of her to any future romantic partners—a serious concern for someone bound by the Miss United States organization’s morality clause.

Judge Issues Protective Order

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Judge Koberlein granted Langston a domestic violence injunction, barring Mills from:

  • Contacting Langston directly or indirectly
  • Coming within 500 feet of her residence, workplace, or public appearances
  • Mentioning her on social media or in public statements

Crucially, the judge found Mills’s testimony about the videos unconvincing. “The court, considering the totality of the testimony and circumstances, does not find the respondent’s testimony concerning the intimate videos to be truthful,” Koberlein wrote.

Mills claimed he no longer possessed the videos and never intended to share them. But the court wasn’t persuaded.

Political Fallout and Public Reaction

As of Wednesday, Mills’s congressional office and legal team have not issued public statements. Meanwhile, Langston’s attorney said they would not comment until the following day.

The case has ignited fierce debate online, with critics questioning Mills’s fitness for office and supporters urging caution until more facts emerge. Notably, Mills has not been criminally charged in either the D.C. incident or the current allegations.

Still, the protective order—especially its explicit findings about credibility—could have lasting consequences for his political career, particularly in a district where family values and personal integrity are often central campaign themes.
